MEALS

Eating a meal is actually a community sign. In hotels and restaurants no tables are prepared for one person.
When we eat we speak to each other, laugh and joke too. We pay attention to those who are around us and pass food to them of they need it. A polite person pays great attention to those who eat with him. In serving ourselves it is not good to fill our plants in a mountain like manner with rice, beef or any other food item. A modest amount should be taken at first. Later, if more is needed a second or third serving will do.
It is not good to eat fast. Food should be eaten slowly and carefully. Banana skins, orange peelings of bones should never be thrown about. The way we eat and drink we show how civilized we are, It is said a nation's civilization can be judged by their eating habits.

Knocking At Doors

You show what you are when you know at a door. Knock at a door gently and softy a couple of times. Wait a while, if  there is no reply, try again.
By loud and rough ways of knocking, people show what they are. If you are too loud and rough in your ways, people may not welcome you or accept you.
A position does not permit a person to be rough, loud or noisy.External signs manifest inner discipline. Power or strength is never shown by rough, loud or noisy ways.
Very few people pay attention to a little sign like knocking at a door. So they become careless and rough in their ways. They do not realize that paying attention to little things make us great.
Pat somebody on the back gently and it has a tremendous effect on the person. So knocking at doors properly shows your personality.

Good Manners At School

Just as at home and school, manners are equally important elsewhere. pay attentions in class. Carefully do your homework. Be on time for everything. Respect each other's property.
A teacher's job is not easy. He or she has to prepare the lessons. Patience, understanding, honesty and decency are important qualities for a teacher. Knowing the difficult task of the teacher, all should try to sympathize, understand and respect a teacher.
For proper homework, a good atmosphere is necessary. What does a good atmosphere mean? It means a lot. Paying attention to the time table, speaking in a soft voice, maintaining silence. Using teacher and study time properly help to form a good atmosphere.
A teacher or a student who does not believe in good manners at school will not be respected in society. Your good name is more valuable than expensive perfume.

Early Training

Nobody is born with good manners. Good manners are learnt by early training. A child at the age of one is able to read wards, at the of two phrases and at the age of three even a book. Good breeding should begin when a child is able to walk and speak.
Social manners are unknown to children. I they are initiated into such manners very early in life, a profound impression is made on them, to be naturally refined. Social manners can be learnt in a classroom situation too, yet it is not a substitute for home training early in life.
A code of conduct is known to well mannered children. To keep one's hands, feet, teeth, shoes, clothes, etc, clean; to know how to use cutlery, never to disturb others while they are reading, always to offer their seats to elderly people, never to sit with their feet higher heads. Parents should know that they are the first teacher of their children.

A cheerful wife or husband can be a great blessing to a family. In the midst of domestic storms they arise come to a safe harbour.
Unless a fiery temper is controlled, home life can be shattered. Relationship of husband and wife is not based on 50% give and take, from each other partner. Sometimes the proportions might be 75% to 25%. Actually a marriage is not based on arithmetic or logic, but love.
A fiery temper of one can be calmed by the good temper of the other. Wisdom and discretion of one can guide a person with a hasty temper. Courage, strength and endurance of a weakness and despair. Command over one's temper can resolve much trouble that is hardly dreamt of.
